Fire rating definitions, from least to highest rated
- 1/2-Hour Fire Rating; Tested to maintain an interior temperature less than 350 degrees F when exposed to a fire for 1/2 hour
- ETL Electronic Media 30-Min: Intertek test for the usability of electronic media after fire tested up to 1550 degrees F for 1/5 hour
- UL® 1-Hour Fire Rating is tested by Underwriter Laboratories; interior temperature less than 350 degrees F when exposed to fire for 1 hour (up to 1700 degrees F)
- UL® 1.5-Hour Fire Rating is tested by Underwriter Laboratories; interior temperature less than 350 degrees F when exposed to fire for 90 Minutes (up to 1700 degrees F)
- UL® 2-Hour Fire Rating is tested by Underwriter Laboratories; interior temperature less than 350 degrees F when exposed to fire for 2 hours (up to 1850 degrees F)
- UL® 1-Hour 125 Media Rating is tested by Underwriter Laboratories; interior temperature less than 125 degrees F when exposed to fire for 1 hour (up to 1700 degrees F)
- UL® 1.5-Hour 125 Media Rating is tested by Underwriter Laboratories; interior temperature less than 125 degrees F when exposed to fire for 90 Minutes (up to 1700 degrees F)
- UL® 2-Hour 125 Media Rating is tested by Underwriter Laboratories; interior temperature less than 125 degrees F when exposed to fire for 2 hours (up to 1850 degrees F)
- UL® 3-Hour 125 Media Rating is tested by Underwriter Laboratories; interior temperature less than 125 degrees F when exposed to fire for 3 hours (up to 1925 degrees F)
