UniBinder 8.2 Operation Details
- 1. Neatly stack the pages you wish to bind into a book block.
- 2. Choose a UniBind Cover with a spine size that corresponds to the number of sheets in your document.
- 3. Because of the crimping, it is recommended to select a spine that is slightly larger than the thickness of your bundle of sheets.
- 4. Place the documents into the UniCover.
- 5. Place the UniCover onto one of the binding compartments of your UniBinder 8.2. The LED indication on both ends of the binding compartment of your UniBinder turns red. This means that the heating module starts to heat up. As long as the LEDs remain red, the heating is still in progress. Removing the UniCover at this time or adding another UniCover to the same compartment will result in poor binding quality. The pre-set heating time is required to melt the resin, which then binds the document after cooling below 104°F. You can use the second compartment at the same time.
- 6. The heating process finishes when the LEDs turn green.
- 7. Insert the hot spine into the crimping compartment. The system will automatically begin crimping the spine and will know when to stop. This will adjust the spine of the cover to the thickness of your document and push the sheets deeper into the resin to ensure perfect binding quality.
- 8. After crimping the document, move the UniCover over to the cooling compartment of your UniBinder 8.2. Let it cool for a few minutes.
- 9. Your document is ready.
PRO TIP: If you cannot get your machine to engage its heating element, the magnet inside may be stuck. To fix, unplug the machine, turn it upside down and shake it. Turn it right side up, plug it back in, and try again.
