Q: Can I use any kind of paper in my Unibind system?A: Yes, the Unibind binding resin allows you to bind every type of office and photo paper. The sheet capacity of Unibind binding covers is based upon 20lb paper (80GSM). The use of heavier paper will call for a larger spine sized to be used and may require a second heating application to safely secure all the paper in the resin. For completely lay-flat options, try new
Vpaper.
Q: Why choose Unibind?
A: Unibind is a high-quality, user-friendly binding product that has long lasting performance. Unibind gives you flexible solutions for in-house binding, including a wide choice of presentation covers for your specific objectives. This do-it-yourself approach to perfect bound documents proves to be very cost-efficient.
Q: Can I order customized Unibind covers from you?
A: Yes, you may place customized orders by email, phone or fax. To repeat a custom order, please have a copy of your design available, with a quantity and cover capacity in mind. You can email your order to
info@filing.com, by calling us at 1-800-373-9133, or by faxing us at 651-481-8525. New custom orders will require a proofing process before production.
Q: How do I make sure that all of the pages are going to be secure in the cover?
A: First, make sure you choose the proper size Unibind cover. Over-stuffing a cover will likely cause pages to fall out. A
Unibind spine measurer is a handy tool to help ensure the correct cover size is selected for your document. Second, make sure to jog the papers to align the sheets carefully and then load the set of pages into the Unibind cover. Tapping the documents ensures that the sheets will make good contact with the adhesive resin.
Q: Where is the On/Off switch on the machine?
A: For the 8.2 and 8.1 machines, the switch is located on the backside, near the bottom. For the rest of the binding systems, there is no on/off button. Simply placing the spine side down on the heating element will automatically start the binding process.
Q: Can I reuse Unibind spines?A: Removing all pages will likely remove all binding resin, leaving the cover without proper adhesive. We do not recommend reusing Unibind covers.
Q: What are the difference between Unibind Spines and Unibind Covers?A: Unibind spines are just the spine of the document. There are not any covers connected to the spine like the Unibind covers have. This lets you make your own coversets made with any type of material. Unibind has
specially designed coversets with creases built-in to make sure the document can lay open. These coversets come in linen, leatherette or plastic finishes. All of these coversets can be customized just like the hard covers.
