Frequently Asked Unibind Questions
Q: How do I order custom hardcovers?
A: You may place customized orders by email, phone or fax. We need your logo in digital format, so email is preferred. You can email your order to info@filing.com, by calling us at 1-800-373-9133, or by faxing us at 651-481-8525. New custom orders will require a proofing process before production. To repeat a custom order, please have a copy of your design available, with a quantity and cover capacity in mind.
Q: Does Paper Come With My Covers?A: Yes, 32lb. Lay-Flat Vpaper is included with your order of covers
Q: How do I make sure that all of the pages are going to be secure in the cover?
A: First, make sure you choose the proper size Unibind cover. Over-stuffing a cover will likely cause pages to fall out. A Unibind spine measurer is a handy tool to help ensure the correct cover size is selected for your document. Second, make sure to jog the papers to align the sheets carefully and then load the set of pages into the Unibind cover. Tapping the documents ensures that the sheets will make good contact with the adhesive resin. Q: Can I edit the document once it has been bound? My document has a mistake; can I correct this document? I forgot to bind a page in my document; can I still add it to the bound document?A: Yes, you can edit documents after you have bound them. Place the bound cover on the heating element and wait for the green light indication. Pickup the document, and again, set it on the heating element. This will keep the molten resin in a liquid state and give you time to add or edit. To remove a sheet of paper, slide the document left or right and avoid pulling up so the resin does not stick to the remaining pages. Add a new sheet in the desired location and jog/tap the document for proper positioning. Q: Can I reuse Unibind covers?A: Removing all pages will likely remove all binding resin, leaving the cover without proper adhesive. We do not recommend reusing Unibind covers.

Size:- UniBind Hard Covers (Lay-Flat Hard Covers) are designed for letter-size documents in portrait orientation. Also available in landscape.
Material:- Covers are made from premium-quality cardstock with a matte or metal flake-style finish, with a built-in U-channel spine. The U-channels come with resin adhesive already inside the spines. Spines are crimpable for optimal fit.
Capacity/Sizing Chart:
How To Bind Lay-Flat Hardcovers- When your Vpaper comes out of your printer, place them evenly inside the appropriate capacity hardcover without exceeding capacity. With your machine ready, place the document(s) onto the heating element. The system will automatically detect the document's steel spine and the binding process will begin immediately. This is indicated with a red light. When the document is complete, the light turns green, and place the bound document in the crimping element (if applicable). Hold the document in place while the machine crimps the document's steel spine. The final step is to move the document to the cooling channel for the cooling process which allows the resin to be properly set. After 90 seconds of cooling, your document is permanently bound.
Popular Hardcover Applications:- The Lay-Flat Thermal Hard Cover by Peleman Industries (Unibind) is used in many different applications including annual reports, board meetings, legal documents, notebooks, menus, company profiles, contacts, catalogs, etc. They are the perfect solution for reports, presentations, brochures, and much more. If you have a document that needs to look its best, then the UniCover Hard premium binding covers are your perfect solution.
